Banh Cuon
Delicate steamed rice rolls filled with minced pork and mushrooms.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice flour
- 3 cups water
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 150g minced pork
- 50g wood ear mushrooms, chopped
- 1 shallot, minced
- Fish sauce dipping sauce
Steps
- Stir-fry minced pork, mushrooms, and shallot until cooked; set aside.
- Whisk rice flour, cornstarch, and water into a thin batter.
- Ladle a thin layer of batter onto a cloth stretched over steaming water; cover and steam briefly until set.
- Lift off the thin sheet and place a spoonful of filling, then roll up gently.
- Repeat with remaining batter and filling.
- Serve with fish sauce dipping sauce and fried shallots.
