Bubur Ayam
Indonesian chicken congee topped with crispy shallots, peanuts, and soy sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 6 cups chicken stock
- 200g shredded cooked chicken
- 2 tbsp crispy fried shallots
- 2 tbsp fried peanuts
- Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- Scallions and crackers
Steps
- Simmer rice in stock, stirring occasionally, until very soft and porridge-like.
- Ladle the congee into bowls.
- Top with shredded chicken, crispy shallots, and fried peanuts.
- Drizzle with sweet soy sauce.
- Garnish with scallions and crackers before serving.
