Chana Masala

Chana Masala

A hearty North Indian chickpea curry simmered in a spiced tomato gravy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp chana masala spice blend
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Cilantro

Steps

  1. Saute cumin seeds and onion in oil until golden.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in tomato puree and chana masala, cooking until the oil separates.
  4. Add chickpeas and a splash of water, simmering for 15 minutes.
  5. Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or roti.
