Galbi

Korean grilled beef short ribs marinated in a sweet soy garlic glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1kg beef short ribs, butterflied
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 pear or apple, grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Black pepper

Steps

  1. Score the ribs lightly to help the marinade penetrate.
  2. Mix soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, grated fruit, and garlic into a marinade.
  3. Marinate ribs for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  4. Grill over high heat, turning occasionally, until caramelized and cooked through.
  5. Rest briefly before slicing between the bones and serving.
