Crispy chickpea-battered vegetable fritters, perfect with tea on a rainy day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 potato, sliced thin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Water
  • Oil for frying

Steps

  1. Whisk chickpea flour with turmeric, chili powder, salt, and water into a thick batter.
  2. Dip onion and potato slices into the batter, coating evenly.
  3. Heat oil and deep fry the coated vegetables until golden and crisp.
  4. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve hot with mint or tamarind chutney.
