Rajma Masala

Rajma Masala

A comforting North Indian kidney bean curry in a rich, spiced tomato gravy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked kidney beans (rajma)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp rajma masala spice blend
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Cilantro

Steps

  1. Saute cumin seeds and onion in oil until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in tomato puree and rajma masala, cooking until oil separates.
  4. Add cooked kidney beans along with some of their cooking liquid.
  5. Simmer for 20 minutes until the gravy thickens.
  6. Garnish with cilantro and serve with steamed rice.
