Samosa

Crispy fried pastry triangles filled with spiced potatoes and peas.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp oil, plus extra for frying
  • 2 potatoes, boiled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Water as needed

Steps

  1. Mix flour, oil, and a pinch of salt with water into a firm dough; rest for 20 minutes.
  2. Saute cumin seeds, potatoes, peas, and garam masala into a spiced filling.
  3. Roll dough into circles, cut in half, and shape into cones.
  4. Fill each cone with potato mixture and seal the edges with water.
  5. Deep fry at medium heat until golden and crisp.
  6. Serve hot with tamarind or mint chutney.
