Tamagoyaki
A rolled Japanese omelette, lightly sweetened and savory, sliced for breakfast.
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1/4 cup dashi stock
- Vegetable oil
Steps
- Whisk eggs with sugar, soy sauce, mirin, and dashi.
- Heat a rectangular tamagoyaki pan with a thin layer of oil over medium heat.
- Pour in a thin layer of egg mixture, and once set, roll it to one side.
- Add more egg mixture, lifting the rolled portion to let egg flow underneath, then roll again.
- Repeat until all egg is used, forming a multi-layered roll.
- Slice and serve.
