Tonkatsu

Tonkatsu

Crispy breaded deep-fried pork cutlet, served with shredded cabbage and tonkatsu sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 pork loin cutlets
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Flour for dusting
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Tonkatsu sauce

Steps

  1. Pound pork cutlets lightly and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge in flour, then egg, then panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Deep fry at 180C until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Rest briefly, then slice into strips.
  5. Serve over shredded cabbage with tonkatsu sauce drizzled on top.
