Yakitori
Grilled skewered chicken glazed with a sweet and savory tare sauce.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken thigh, cubed
- 4 scallions, cut into segments
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp sugar
- Bamboo skewers
Steps
- Thread chicken and scallion pieces alternately onto skewers.
- Simmer soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar until slightly thickened to make the tare glaze.
- Grill skewers over high heat, turning occasionally.
- Brush with tare glaze repeatedly during the last few minutes of grilling.
- Serve hot, brushed with extra glaze.
